Macandrew Bay: Where we live...

So this is Macandrew Bay, on the Otago Harbour in Dunedin, New Zealand.  Nice, huh?

This is our place, with our Subie "Caz", in the driveway.

Here's the view back to Dunedin from our deck - Pretty much the view from our kitchen window. Sailing anyone?

A quick view into our backyard, for anyone who cares, looking over the greenhouse, past the creek, to the orchard.  We think there are apples, pistachios and walnuts in there, as well as some mystery trees.

And finally, here's a nice sunset a few days ago...

Where we live is known as the Otago Peninsula.  It's a 30km long spit of land that separates the fairly shallow and protected Otago Harbour from the fairly wild South Pacific ocean on the other side.  Macandrew Bay is about 10km along the peninsula from the centre of Dunedin.  At the far end of the Penisula is Tairoa Head - home to the world's only mainland albatross breeding colony.  Also at Tairoa Head is a colony of Hoiho - the endangered Yellow-Eyed Penguin.  Adding to the wildlife extravaganza there are fur seals in the harbour and on the pacific beaches, as well as a sea-lions and dolphins.  Oh, and sheep.  Lots of sheep.
